Grade 5 photo
and document restorations are restorations of extremely damaged images, which
require extensive image reconstruction. Image reconstruction is required,
for example, when a large and important part of a photograph is torn away
or obliterated by damage -- e.g. the side of a person's face or a person's
leg. Many Grade 5 images have been cut around the edges, taped together
or exposed to substances that have deteriorated the surface.
Image-Edit & Art is expert in handling Grade 5's.
An image is not
a Grade 5 merely because it is very old, significantly damaged, taped
or deteriorated. The vast bulk of damaged album photos are not Grade 5,
even when some reconstruction is required. A Grade 5 photo requires between 5-8 hours of work
by an editor who has special expertise.
On very rare occasions,
we will deem a photo to be "unworkable" due to excessive damage.
In some cases, a part of the image will be workable and we will accept
the work provided you will accept cropping.
